RAIN!
I’ve not seen this much rain in the 15 years I’ve lived in the North.
Usually there is snow and lots of it.
But, not this year!
RAIN!
If it was snow we would be buried.
We keep bouncing back and fourth between 30 and 40 degrees F.
Last week we had 3 days in the 40″s.
I fear the spring flowers are confused and will wake before Febraury.
And we all know what a bleak spring that would bring.
I keep rejoicing for spring, but it’s still January!
In the back of my mind i know those negative temperatures are still lurking out there waiting to catch the crocus and daffidills offguard.
Winter!
This image of Garrett in his pointy hat was taken before Christmas.
That was back in Winter when we had snow.
It’s now Jan and we have no snow!
It’s been in the high 30’s every day this year!
Chef Pierre
On December 3rd and 4th Garrett made his acting debut in a Shamrock Players and Armadillo Productions presentation of the “Little Mermaid” at the Franke Center for the Arts in Marshall, MI.
This was not like the Disney version, it was a different intrepretation of the Hans Christian Anderson story.
In this story the little mermaid becomes human and leaves the ocean forever to marry the boy of her dreams.
Garrett played the part of Chef Pierre as is apparent in the picture above.
It was remarkable how well these 6 to 11 year olds learned their rather lengthly parts and were able to execute their roles.
The play lasted 1.5 hours.
Winter!
On 12/7/05 it was -4 degrees F at 6:30am
I haven’t posted in a while as I am very busy at work.
I wanted to let you know that Winter has really come on with a vengence.
12/7/05 it was -4 degrees F at 6:30am
12/8/05 it snowed 6+ inches!
The last couple of years it has snowed in late Nov and then melted away until mid December.
This year it snowed mid November and has been white ever since!
Thanksgiving Snow
Seems winter is in a hurry this year. It’s the day before thanksgiving and it has now snowed for the second time.
This snow is heavy and wet. Fortunately we have only about four inches.
But it’s not all bad, as this is the best snowball snow I’ve seen in a long time.
It is soft, compresses well, splatters, and sticks to verticle walls. A boys nirvana.
